Who operates FungiCoach

FungiCoach is operated by Renotrend Applications Inc. and published under the developer brand Renotrend Apps.

At a glance

FungiCoach Mobile is a local-first field companion. It can use foreground location, camera or photo-library access, and local device storage when you choose those features. The current mobile version does not use Firebase account synchronization, upload photos to a FungiCoach cloud service, display third-party advertising, process Stripe payments, perform real cloud or AI mushroom identification, or track location in the background.

FungiCoach Web is separate. It currently offers Firebase-based accounts and lets signed-in users manage private Web spots in Firestore.

FungiCoach Mobile

Location

Location permission is optional. If granted, FungiCoach may use foreground location to display current coordinates, plan nearby foraging trips, record private spots and observations, add context to Trip Briefs and Trail Packs, record breadcrumb points during an active foreground trip, support Return to Start, and request local environmental conditions.

If you refuse or revoke permission, the app remains usable with reduced or approximate-location functionality. FungiCoach does not currently perform background GPS tracking and does not continuously track location after the app leaves the foreground. Precise mushroom spots are private by default and are not published by FungiCoach or included in public search-engine metadata.

Environmental information from Open-Meteo

FungiCoach uses Open-Meteo to request weather and environmental information for the current or selected location. The request may include approximate latitude and longitude needed to return temperature, relative humidity, recent precipitation, and modeled soil moisture.

FungiCoach does not send private mushroom notes, photographs, trip history, observation details, or spot names to Open-Meteo. Open-Meteo may process request information such as lookup coordinates and network information under its Terms & Privacy information.

Photographs

You may take mushroom photographs, choose images from the device library, and attach photos to observations. In the current mobile version, these photographs remain local to the device and are not automatically uploaded to a FungiCoach cloud service. Any future cloud photo synchronization will require an updated disclosure before or when it launches.

Local and offline data

The current mobile app can store spots, trips, observations, Trail Packs, environmental snapshots, breadcrumb points, identification-queue status, photographs, and app preferences locally. Data remains on the device until it is deleted through the application, the application storage is cleared, or the application is removed, subject to device behavior. Recoverability is not guaranteed.

The offline identification queue records preliminary identification work awaiting connectivity. Real AI or cloud identification is not active in the current release.

Species reference content

FungiCoach includes bundled educational content and mushroom-reference photographs for offline use. Some reference media comes from sources such as Wikimedia Commons under applicable Creative Commons licences. Media licensing is separate from personal-data handling. Detailed Sources & Attributions are currently available inside the mobile app settings.

Identification and safety

Mushroom photographs and observations may be used locally in the preliminary identification workflow. Emergency and poison-control resources are separate from normal identification assistance.

FungiCoach identifies and guides; it never authorizes consumption.

FungiCoach Web

The Web application currently uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. When you create a Web account, Firebase processes your email address, authentication identifier, and authentication information needed to provide and maintain the session. My Spots stores the private information you enter in Firestore, which may include a name, notes, habitat, and precise coordinates under your account.

Web authentication sessions are designed to persist in the same browser until you sign out or clear applicable browser data. FungiCoach Web does not currently upload your photos, and mobile data is not synchronized to Firebase or the Web application.

Web account and private-spot records remain in Firebase until they are deleted, account data is removed following a valid request, or the service changes, subject to Firebase operation and legal requirements. Automatic self-service account deletion is not currently available.

Third-party services

• Open-Meteo provides environmental and weather-model data for FungiCoach Mobile.
• Google Play and Android platform services may independently process information when distributing, installing, updating, securing, or operating Android apps under Google’s terms and privacy notices.
• Google Firebase provides authentication and Firestore storage for FungiCoach Web only. It is not currently used to synchronize FungiCoach Mobile data.

Advertising and sale of personal information

FungiCoach does not currently display third-party advertising. Renotrend Applications Inc. does not sell users’ personal information. Limited information may still be processed by the providers identified above when their current features are used.

Your controls

• Deny or revoke location, camera, and photo permissions through Android settings.
• Edit or delete locally stored spots where those controls are available.
• Clear local application data or remove the app through device settings; this may permanently remove local records.
• On the Web, edit or delete private Web spots and sign out.
• Automatic Web account deletion is not available. Requests can be sent to fungicoach@renotrend.com.

Children

FungiCoach is not specifically directed to children. If a future Google Play target-audience decision introduces an explicit age requirement, this policy will be updated.

Future changes

This policy may be updated as FungiCoach changes. Mobile accounts, cloud synchronization, cloud photo storage, subscriptions, and additional third-party services are not active in the current mobile release and will require updated disclosure before or when introduced.
